I think it’s necessary to have a clean and organized refrigerator every day of the year, but if you don’t, it’s at least required for Thanksgiving. Even when we don’t host, we end up with lots of leftovers that need a home. So, let’s get crackin’ and organize our fridge in these 4 easy steps:
- Toss the Unnecessary: We don’t need 3 bottles of barbecue sauce. Pick your favorite and toss the rest. Having excess food and drinks in our fridge is going to make it impossible to keep it organized.
- Utilize Clear Containers: Store all of your leftovers and anything that doesn’t come in its own proper container, such as grapes, in Clear Plastic Containers or Clear Glass Containers. This keeps things neat and easily visible.
- Categorize: Group all like items together. You don’t need an errant water bottle fraternizing with the ketchup. These things have nothing to do with each other. Create the following groups- Beverages, Condiments, Dairy, Produce, Leftovers, and Dessert (because you have to have room for dessert).
- Utilize Compartments: Take each of your newly categorized groups and place them in the most appropriate compartment. Your drawers are perfect for your produce and dairy. The door is excellent for condiments. The large open shelves are where you can put your beverages, leftovers, and dessert.
There you have it! A perfectly organized fridge ready for all of your holiday feasts and goodies!
