Naked Smoky: You Need This

Have you seen a new makeup palette getting a whole lot of attention lately? It’s the newly released (and much anticipated!!) Naked Smoky Palette ( from Urban Decay Cosmetics!! This is the fourth installment in the Naked Palette collection and it is living up to the love! So what’s the deal?

The Naked eye shadow palettes all focus on neutral tones with each having their own special twist. The original Naked palette is more warm/gold/bronze toned. Naked 2 is more cool toned/ taupe/neutral. The Naked 3 is full of rose-toned neutrals. And now Naked Smoky is the sultry sister of the group with deeper shades in matte, satin, and metallic finishes. This palette has 12 shadows which are super smooth and highly pigmented.

This is muy importante! High pigmentation and finely milled shadows let you create eye looks that are rich and well blended and have better staying power! Urban Decay’s current shadow formulation is known for great color payoff – this Naked Smoky is no different!  The palette has a great combination of browns, grays, and black with different finishes – matte, satin, and metallic. This one palette has the 3 most universal color groups for smoky eyes – a gold/brown, silver-gray/purple and neutral/black trio of shades. If you’re not sure which Naked palette to get, this is a great starting point! Don’t be afraid of the “Smoky” name. I’ve been playing with this palette for a while, and you can get super natural daytime looks to really deep smoked-out ones!

Don’t be afraid of this one friends! It’s not only for the bold sultry looks (although they do look amazing!). You can achieve very neutral and natural looks too using the matte neutral shades. Naked Smoky is a winner!
