Halloween Sauerkraut Brownies

I think you may all remember my sauerkraut fetish and how it actually helped to cure my gastritis. If you have been watching Graye Note Live, you may also have seen me “ask” my daughter, Andrea, to try my Sauerkraut Brownies. I thought it went over well. She said she couldn’t even taste the sauerkraut! What better way to have a tasty treat for Halloween than one that is actually good for you! Come on, get a little kooky spooky and “Trick or Treat” with our Halloween Sauerkraut Brownies…

What Can I Eat With All This Coffee?

I often enjoy coffee, but sometimes I have to drink it more than I would like to and it clashes with my meals and snacks. Most food that goes well with coffee (i.e. sugar-crusted donuts) is NOT GOOD FOR YOU. I don’t want my cholesterol to spike and my jeans to get tight because I needed more caffeine this week, so I made a list of go-to foods for us to solve the dilemma….

Apple Impromptu Cake

It’s getting to be that cozy time of year. And, you know, I LOVE COZY! The best season of all (my FAVORITE) is here! FALL, AUTUMN, AUTUMNAL EQUINOX. However you look at it, it’s APPLE time! From Graye Note Supermom, Stephanie Viloria, here’s the kid-approved activities to keep everyone happy and engaged…

Macaroni Tuna Salad

Summer is not summer until my mom makes this macaroni tuna salad! It’s nice and homeycozy (my new word for the dictionary). When I started making it myself, I got rave reviews! Of course, I “healthed” it up a bit. Here is my version…

Pasta Salad

Believe it or not, Memorial Day is around the corner! I have always loved Memorial Day; not only because my husband’s birthday falls near it, but because it is the beginning of our warmest season! My husband and our kids, Tom and Andrea, RV’d. Memorial Day weekend was the official start of our camping season. It’s great when you have nutritious food, like this pasta salad, when you’re “on the road”. I decided on this recipe after my sister-in-law, Peg, made a delicious pasta salad for a family get-together. Here is my rendition…

Mom’s Golden Buttermilk Bake a Cake

When my son was in elementary school, his teacher had the children write a recipe. I’m not sure if it was a recipe the teacher had and they just wrote it down on a recipe card, or if it was something that was made up in class. However, that recipe that he brought home on a 3 x 5 index card was everyone’s birthday cake for years! Everyone loved Tom’s Bake a Cake. I found that recipe the other day and decided to do my “tweaking”. This is what I came up with…
