I really do not like waiting for a wonderful feast to be served by having to snack on items that can only be classified in the food category of “junk.” That is why I will be serving these 3 amazing hors d’oeuvres for Thanksgiving this year!
2. Sweet Habanero Pepper Dip and Root Chips
Place the following items in a food processor and “processes” for only about 10 seconds. Then pulse carefully until fully blended. Do NOT over-process or it will become soupy. Serve with Root Chips.
12 oz. Sweet Red Pepper Relish
8 oz. Cream Cheese
4 oz. Whole Milk Plain Greek Yogurt
3. Piggies in a Blanket and Secret Cheesy Garlic Mustard
Place Organic Crescent Rolls on a baking sheet and slice each triangle in half. Then wrap 1 Mini Chicken Sausage in each piece of dough and wrap it up. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes, or until rolls are light golden in color.
While the piggies are in the oven, follow the next directions to make the Secret Mustard:
Measure all of your ingredients before you start cooking because once the butter melts, you have to move, move, move to get the ingredients in without burning anything. But, don’t be scared, if everything is measured ahead of time, this is very easy.
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup Prosecco
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon dark spicy mustard
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon raw honey
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan using medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the flour and stir until completely mixed in.
Add the Prosecco, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and raw honey. Stir continuously until completely mixed and it starts to boil.
Reduce heat to low and stir in cheese. Keep stirring until the cheese is completely smooth.
Done. Now we have 3 nutritious, delicious, and chic hors d’oeuvres!
